Original BioWare-created IPs include Jade Empire, the critically acclaimed Mass Effect franchise, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood for the Nintendo DS and epic fantasy RPG Dragon Age franchise. BioWare is hard at work on Mass Effect 3 and Star Wars: The Old Republic, our massively multiplayer online game being developed at BioWare Austin.

BioWare is seeking for immediate hire Cinematic Designer candidates to develop on our award winning games. Successful applicants must exhibit knowledge of visual storytelling, filmmaking techniques, and game design principles.

Core Responsibilities:
• Design and implement interactive conversation cinematics
• Provide development team with character acting and visual storytelling expertise

Secondary Responsibilities:
• Script character interactions
• Implement visual effects
• Design content for digital acting

Required Experience:
• A passion for creating high-quality cinematics
• The capacity to work under pressure in a production environment
• Expertise with in-game cinematics or machinima tools
• Strong understanding of film language and the ability to build high-quality cutscenes
• Excellent communication skills in a team environment
• Game development in a cinematic or technical role is an asset
• 3D modeling with tools such as 3DSMax or Maya is an asset

Required 3D Portfolio Submission Components

• Example of cinematics built with a game engine or machinima tool
• Example of game design fundamentals such as mapping, modding, or scripting
• Example of storytelling ability

Note: Applications without a 3D portfolio will not be considered.
